PROFESSIONAL SUPERVISION

I offer professional supervision (in some contexts this may be called as professional counseling or coaching) for individuals, groups, and work communities. I am currently training to become a dialogical supervisor (STOry). My background includes over 20 years of experience in facilitating diverse groups, developing organizational practices, training in dialogical communication, and collaboration across the public and third sectors, government administration, private enterprises, and higher education institutions.

What is professional supervision?

Professional supervision is about learning from your own work and exploring, evaluating, and developing it with the support of a trained supervisor. You can participate in supervision at any stage of your professional life or career. As a supervisor, I am here to support you in what is most important and relevant for you or your team at this moment.

Do you face challenges in managing your workload or time, maintaining well-being at work or navigating change? Would you like to relieve stress and strengthen your sense of control and resilience at work? Or perhaps you want to reflect on your relationship with your work and your team, strengthen your professional identity, or explore new directions in your career? Supervision can support you in all these situations.

Supervision is also a tool for development. It can help clarify a team’s or organization’s core mission, clarify roles, improve communication and teamwork, and support leadership.

From an employer’s perspective, supervision is an investment that pays off through increased employee well-being, improved work practices, and stronger resilience. It is also an excellent resource for entrepreneurs seeking to develop their professional identity and long-term business goals.

How is Supervision Conducted?

Supervision can be conducted individually, in pairs, or in groups.

The format and duration of supervision are always agreed upon based on the client’s needs. It can be tailored to specific needs, or it can be regular. In a regular supervision process, sessions are held approximately once a month and the process may last from a few meetings to several years (continuation is evaluated together at regular intervals). A single session typically lasts 60–90 minutes for individual supervision or 60–120 minutes for group supervision.

I conduct in-person supervision in the Helsinki metropolitan area and Uusimaa, and elsewhere by agreement. Remote supervision is available regardless of location. I am happy to come to your premises or reserve a space for our sessions.

I offer supervision in Finnish and English.

What Does Supervision Cost?

During my supervisor training, I offer supervision at reduced rates and would be happy to provide a tailored offer for you. The price depends on the duration of supervision, the size of the group, and the location. Initial consultations and needs assessment are free of charge, giving you the opportunity to explore whether I am the right supervisor for you or your team.

“The supervision group gave me a great deal of peer support and valuable insights into organizing my work—things I wouldn’t have gained elsewhere. I found it rewarding to share everyday challenges with others in similar situations and to receive practical tips from both the group and its excellent facilitator on how to improve work meaningfulness and working methods, starting from one’s own attitude and expectations.”
“The supervision sessions were very helpful not only for exchanging peer support and experiences, but also for gaining perspective on my own work-related challenges. The meetings were grounding during times of high stress at work, even when I sometimes felt quite hopeless. I felt safe and accepted, even when we discussed difficult topics.”
