ELINA

Elina Henttonen (D.Sc. in Econ), founder of Valtaamo, is a dialogue and development professional with a strong background in research. She has extensive experience in facilitating dialogues, training dialogue skills, and developing dialogic methods both in Finland and internationally. Elina is also known as a critical reformer of workplace values and practices, coaching professionals and organizations to strengthen their agency and enhance the meaningfulness of work. She is currently studying to become a dialogical  supervisor.

Elina has authored multiple books and guides on work-related themes and continuously develops new ways to utilize dialogic experiential knowledge in decision-making and the development of public services. Based on large-scale national dialogue series, she has written numerous thought-provoking and widely recognized reports on societal issues (you can find these and other publications in the Library).

Elina co-founded Valtaamo in 2013 together with Kirsi LaPointe, after working for over a decade as a researcher and lecturer in organization and management at Aalto University School of Business. Valtaamo’s services are built on a strong foundation of research and pedagogical expertise. Elina’s mission is to foster better understanding—within individuals, between people in dialogue, and in society by strengthening democracy.
